Red Brand Trailer Released for ‘Ready or Not’ with Dark Comedic Kills

Directors of the 2014 horror film Devil’s Due, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, have a new film coming out this summer. An upcoming thriller by the name of Ready or Not is slated for an August release starring Samara Weaving, Adam Brody and Andie MacDowell. The film just released its first official trailer and a Red Band one at that.

The trailer showcases the film’s premise about a newly wedded bride visiting her husband’s family. The family of the Husband have a certain family tradition that they want the couple to be a part of:  a simple game of Hide and Seek. At least that’s what it seems at first for the Bride, until she realizes that this game has a very sadistic twist behind it. Rather than simply hiding, she must hide for her life as the family goes on a killing spree with the intent to find and murder her.

The trailer showcases a lot of brutal kills committed in a dark humorous way, giving the film a dark comedic edge. It still possesses the thrills and violence of a typical R-rated Horror film, with tons of blood and gore and a character fighting for her life. This will certainly be a game of Hide and Seek unlike any other.

Ready or Not is set for release on August 23rd 2019.

Ryan Pineda: When it comes to film, animation, video games and other mediums, I can discuss for hours about how much on why certain films and animated media made me the person I am today. I adore the artistic merit that comes from a lot of pop-culture media and will definitely love to have a conversation about favorite movies any day! I have graduated in 2017 with a BA in Film and Television at the University of Arizona. Been passionate about writing about films due to always having an interesting outlook on the medium. Will always see a film and will definitely be sure to recommend it to someone that I know for a fact would love that movie. Not only that but will also give reasons for why I think that film did or did not work as a movie, and the same can go for other pieces of media like television, video games and especially animated projects.
