Rebecca Ferguson Joins ‘The Greatest Showman on Earth’

Rebecca Ferguson (Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation) has joined the cast of The Greatest Showman on Earth, which stars Oscar-nominated actor Hugh Jackman (Eddie the Eagle) as the legendary circus showman P.T. Barnum. Ferguson will play Jenny Lind, famous 19th century Swedish opera singer. Also on board are three-time Academy Award nominee Michelle Williams (Certain Women), Zac Efron (Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates), and Zendaya (TV’s K.C. Undercover).

The original musical drama from 20th Century Fox features songs written by Justin Paul and Benj Pasek. Michael Gracey is making his feature film directorial debut, helming from a screenplay by Michael Ardnt, Jenny Bicks and Bill Condon. Chernin Entertainment and Laurence Mark are producing. Kira Goldberg is overseeing the project for Fox.

Ferguson had a breakout role as a covert agent opposite Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt in last summer’s blockbuster hit Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation. She can currently be seen in theaters in Florence Foster Jenkins starring three-time Academy Award winner Meryl Streep (Ricki and the Flash). She is one of the three female central characters in Dreamworks’ much-anticipated The Girl on the Train, opening next month on October 7th. She is currently filming Life opposite Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) and will also star in the detective drama The Snowman starring two-time Academy Award nominee Michael Fassbender (The Light Between Oceans).

The Greatest Showman on Earth will bow on Christmas Day next year.
