Ralph Fiennes, Matthew Goode Added to the Cast of Espionage Thriller ‘Official Secrets’

Official Secrets looks to be a really complex, compelling, based on a real-life story espionage thriller, but it definitely has had some development problems. After gaining a lot of steam back in 2016, the film went into a stalled development, with a not single statement about the film’s status over the last year. The film has resurfaced and has announced the casting of Ralph Fiennes and Matthew Goode, according to Empire. Both actors are strong in their own right, and it will be very interesting to see what talents they will bring to the film.

Official Secrets gathers its source material from the Marcia Mitchell book The Spy Who Tried to Stop a War: Katharine Gun and the Secret Plot to Sanction the Iraq War. Actress Keira Knightley will play the main lead, Gun. In the role, will operate as a British intelligence officer. After giving away top secret news on the Iraq War to a publication, she finds herself behind bars. The reporter that received the information, Martin Bright, tries to help get Gun released from prison, but they both come to realize that their situation becomes much more complicated as people try to prevent her freedom and the spread of more information.

Fiennes, Goode, and Knightley will join Matt Smith in the cast. The film is being directed by Gavin Hood, and the film will begin filming in Yorkshire very soon. As of now, there’s no word as to when the film will hit theaters.
