Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the filmmaking duo known collectively as Radio Silence, who are behind the Ready or Not movies, Scream (2022), and Scream VI, have been tapped to direct and produce a film based on the Choose Your Own Adventure interactive book series for 20th Century Studios. The film is adapting the book series, a series of “gamebooks” in which the reader is guided through a series of choices within stories set in a variety of locations or eras of history. The reader would then make choices by flipping to different pages that lead to predetermined outcomes.

The film is set to be written by Tom Bisell, known for writing on the Andor TV series and for writing the book The Disaster Artist: My Life Inside The Room, the Greatest Bad Movie Ever Made. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are the first filmmakers to direct an adaptation of the book series. It will not be their next project, as that will be the fourth installment of the Mummy film franchise, with Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz set to reprise their roles, scheduled for release in 2027.

Details about this Choose Your Own Adventure movie, such as its plot, filming dates, filming locations, or a possible release date, aren’t currently known. It’s also not known whether the film will adapt a particular book or set of books within the series, or if it’ll be an original story.
