Although Queen Latifah is often known for her vibrant and comedic personality, she also has the credits as a serious actress. She will showcase a more dramatic role in Netflix’s new thriller called End Of The Road. She will also executive produce the film, and Millicent Shelton (The Walking Dead and Black-ish) will direct the movie from a script by David Loughery. Loughery is the screenwriter behind films such as Screen Gems’ The Intruder and Obsessed, as well as Lionsgate’s forthcoming Hilary Swank film Fatale.
The film will tell the story of Queen Latifah’s character Brenda, who drives her family cross-country to start a new life after losing her job. They become isolated in the desert in New Mexico, and a mysterious killer targets the family, and they must learn how to fight back.
According to Deadline, Producers for End of the Road include Tracey Edmonds for Edmonds Entertainment, Mark Burg for Twisted Pictures and Brad Kaplan. Along with Latifah, Shakim Compere is executive producing for Flavor Unit Entertainment. This will not be Latifah’s first Netflix project, as she also co-stars in the upcoming Netflix sports drama Hustle with Adam Sandler. Queen Latifah’s most recent role was in Hollywood as Oscar-winner Hattie McDaniel
