Post-Apocalyptic Pic ‘Greenland’ Returns with a Confirmed Sequel, Titled ‘Greenland: Migration’

According to Collider, the sequel to 2020’s imagined world-ending movie Greenland has just received its title: Greenland: Migration. The new STXfilms feature is set to star Gerard Butler and Morena Baccarin reprising their roles from the first film. Writer Chris Sparling and director Ric Roman Waugh are also returning to work in the franchise.

The first movie follows a family trying to survive the impending comet that threatens to destroy the earth. The sequel will surround the Garrity family again as they leave the safety of a bunker to explored a decimated Europe in hopes of finding a new home.

Production on Greenland: Migration will begin some time in 2022. Greenland was one of the most internationally successful movies released during the COVID-19 pandemic despite being a disaster film released during a world health crisis, grossing $53.5 million worldwide. 

Greenland: Migration is also the third collaboration between director Roman Waugh and Butler. The duo worked together on Angel Has Fallen and are also set to return to the Has Fallen world with a fourth film in the series. 

However, The Greenland sequel will most likely be released by late 2022 or 2023 due to its filming schedule. Fans will have to rewatch the original Greenland in anticipation till then!
