Possible Image of Colin Farrell Playing The Penguin Launches Rumors

For months now, people have been wondering about DC’s upcoming Matt Reeves-directed film The Batman. Ever since the movie was first announced, fans have be curious to learn which members of of the Dark Knight iconic rogues gallery would be appearing in the film. It was recently announced that actor Paul Dano will be taking on the role of the the Riddler and that actress Zoe Kravitz will be playing Catwoman. Then it was revealed that Colin Farrell was in talks to play one of Batman’s oldest foes: Oswald Cobblepot, i.e. the Penguin.

Just recently, some photos taken on the set of The Batman were posted on Twitter. Viewers have speculated that the pictures, which were taken at a distance, could be of Farrell dressed as the Penguin. Websites like Screen Rant and Comic Book Resources claim that the man in the black coat holding an umbrella could be Farrell in his Penguin costume, but there is still some uncertainty.

In the comics, Oswald Cobblepot is almost always depicted carrying one of his famous trick umbrellas and is more often than not dressed in an old fashioned tuxedo. So it is possible that these photos are our first look at the Penguin, though as of now nothing has been officially confirmed.

The Batman is being directed by Matt Reeves, and stars Robert Pattinson as the titular hero. The movie is expected to be released in the summer of 2021.
