‘Pitch Perfect 3’ Behind-the-Scenes Trailer shows Cast having Aca-Fun

With the third entry in its franchise hitting theaters this December, the Pitch Perfect films seem to have no intention on slowing down anytime soon. However, seeing as how the first sequel received slightly less positive reception than its predecessor, one must hope that Pitch Perfect 3 does something genuinely new rather than go through the motions. Therefore, in order to build anticipation, director Trish Sie and the cast have released an exclusive trailer that, instead of teasing the film itself, highlights the behind the scenes interactions and Instagram photos of its cast, all of whom seem to have having fun together.

In the trailer, director Trish Sie invites the viewers to take “a global tour with the Bellas,” indicating that this upcoming film will be expanding the Barden Bella’s journey beyond a single singing competition. This attempt at variety is quite the positive revelation, as one of the biggest criticisms directed at Pitch Perfect 2 was its formulaic setup, essentially rehashing the plot of the original film on a slightly larger scale. Amongst the footage being displayed includes Anna Kendrick and co. jumping into water, Rebel Wilson being attacked by dogs in a rather puffy jacket, and a character played by DJ Khaled amongst some military soldiers. None of these images offer any clue regarding the film’s plot, but it can be inferred that it becomes quite the road trip.

In addition to Kendrick and Wilson, the remaining Bella cast members will be returning to reprise their roles, including Brittany Snow, Anna Camp, Ester Dean, Chrissie Fit, Hana Mae Lee, Hailee Steinfeld, John Michael Higgins and Elizabeth Banks. Amongst the latest additions to the cast include Ruby Rose, Andy Allo, and John Lithgow, none of whom have had their roles released to the public. Hopefully the audience ends up enjoying the film as the cast has had working together with one another.
