‘Pirates’ Team Joachim Rønning and Jerry Bruckheimer Unite for Paramount Sci-Fi Pitch ‘Origin’

Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales director Joachim Rønning is in the early stages of landing a deal with Paramount Pictures for his Origin pitch. The deal will have Rønning writing the film with his brother Andreas Rønning, as well as directing. Jerry Bruckheimer will serve as producer through his Paramount-based Jerry Bruckheimer Films banner. While details of the story are being kept quiet, early reports suggest this is a high concept sci-fi film with franchise potential. Deadline was the first to report this story.

Origin is Rønning’s latest film that he will direct solo after teaming with Pirates and Kon-Tiki co-director Espen Sandberg. Rønning is attached separately to two other films; Methusaleh for Warner Bros with Tom Cruise and the St. Nick/Christmas viking origin story Winter’s Knight for Sony.
