Pierce Brosnan Gives His Ideas Of Who The Next James Bond Could Be

As speculation continues over which actor will take over the role of James Bond in the upcoming reboot directed by Denis Villeneuve, Pierce Brosnan, who played the character in four films, has shared his thoughts on who could take over.

“I have no desire to see myself in Bond. I’m just a member of the audience now awaiting the next Bond and wishing him well,” Brosnan said in a recent interview with The Times. “There are lots of good hats in the ring. Lots of great actors. I see it. I follow it. They could probably just go left-field and pick someone that none of us know about.”

When asked for a particular actor he would like to see step into the role, Brosnan responded, “I wouldn’t pick anyone. My wife told me not to say anything, and I’ve said too much. Because once I say something, it goes [everywhere] and I get hanged.”

While not naming him in the interview, actor Tom Ellis, who acted alongside Brosnan in The Thursday Murder Club, revealed in a previous interview with Metro UK that Brosnan told him he would “make a good Bond.” Here’s Ellis’s full quote:

“He did tell me he thought I’d make a good Bond, and I was like, ‘Pierce, I think I’m probably too old now. But I’ll take it from you, mate. I’ll take it from you.”
