Phoebe Waller-Bridge Launches New Production Company Wells Street Films

One of the biggest breakout stars of 2019, Fleabag‘s Phoebe Waller-Bridge, has no plans on killing her momentum for 2020. The British powerhouse revealed that she will be launching a London-based film and TV company called Wells Street Films, with plans to create content under her three-year deal with Amazon.

Waller-Bridge has already hired two former collaborators to join her in this new venture. One is Jenny Robins, a story producer on both Fleabag and Killing Eve (of which Waller-Bridge produced the first season), who will serve as Well Street’s head of television and film. The other is Charlotte McBrearty, production manager of the stage version of Fleabag, who will come on board as a development executive. The trio will also work to develop projects outside of Waller-Bridge’s deal with Amazon, however, with plans for films up in the air as well.

Waller-Bridge’s latest film work includes a small role in 2018’s Solo: A Star Wars Story, as well as her writing credit in the much anticipated James Bond film No Time To Die. She’s best known on the television front for the aforementioned Emmy-sweeping Fleabag, in addition to BBC’s spy thriller Killing Eve. The actress stated that starting Wells Street was “a lifelong dream” and that she “can’t wait” to start creating these new projects.
