Pete Davidson and O’Shea Jackson to Lead Sneakerhead Comedy, ‘American Sole’

Pete Davidson and O’Shea Jackson Jr., son of legendary N.W.A. and solo rap artist Ice Cube, have officially signed on to star in STXfilms’ newest project, American Sole. Directed and written by Ian Edelman (How to Make it in America), the film follows two men in their twenties who try to make quick buck in the sneaker-reselling world. It will be produced by Kevin Hart’s HartBeat productions, Jake Stein’s Scondo Productions, and NBA All-Star Chris Paul’s OhDipp!!! Productions in his first ever film production.

An excited Paul said in a statement released by him that: “American Sole’ is a story about the highly exciting, very profitable sneaker industry and the secondary sneaker market. With my own personal passion for sneakers and the culture that drives it,  I’m excited to be a part of telling this entertaining story.” Paul, who himself is repped by Jordan Brand, will certainly bring a necessary level of expertise to the film.

That is not to discount Davidson and Jackson, though, as both are self-proclaimed sneakerheads. Davidson was also featured in Complex’s “Sneaker Shopping With Complex” YouTube series in 2018.

American Sole looks to be Davidson’s next leading role after his semi-autobiographical King of Staten Island that came out earlier this year. Jackson’s last project was 2019’s Just Mercy.
