‘Pet Sematary: Bloodlines’ Receives New Trailer

Sometimes, dead is better. And now audiences will see where the saying came from in the upcoming Pet Sematary: Bloodlines.

The upcoming horror film got a new trailer recently, showcasing the first time Stephen King’s classic novel Pet Sematary. King’s chilling story has been adapted into a movie twice before, once in 1989 and another in 2019, but a prequel surrounding the titular burial ground has never been explored until now.

As Hollywood Reporter states, the main character of Bloodlines is Jud Crandall, the old neighbor in the original story, whose past experiences with the burial ground kick off the chilling events.

An official description reads, “In 1969, a young Jud Crandall has dreams of leaving his hometown of Ludlow, Maine, behind, but soon discovers sinister secrets buried within and is forced to confront a dark family history that will forever keep him connected to Ludlow. Banding together, Jud and his childhood friends must fight an ancient evil that has gripped Ludlow since its founding, and once unearthed has the power to destroy everything in its path.”

This time, Jud is played by Jackson White of Tell Me Lies fame. In the 1989 film, he was played by Fred Gwynne, and by John Lithgow in 2019.

The film also stars Forrest Goodluck, Jack Mulhern, Henry Thomas, and David Duchovny. It’s also written and directed by Lindsey Anderson Beer, with Jeff Buhler also serving as a co-writer.

Pet Sematary: Bloodlines releases on Friday, October 6th, on Paramount+. Check out the trailer below.
