Payback is a Mother! Check the Intense Trailer for ‘Breaking In’

When someone threatens your home, your sense of security is taken away, and all you have left is to fight to protect what’s yours. Breaking In joins in the long list of home invasion thrillers with the likes of When a Stranger Calls, Panic Room and You’re Next, surmising the idea that a woman will do anything to protect herself and the people she cares about. Gabrielle Union (Sleepless) stars in the tense new thriller that is being helmed by director James McTeigue, who is best known for V for Vendetta.

The plot centers around a mother who takes her children to her recently deceased father’s mansion to settle his estate. The place is visited by four strangers who are hell bent on retrieving something from the house. Shaun (Union) is locked outside of the house while the children remain hostages to the strangers. Shaun will do anything to protect her children and hence the title of the film, proceeds to fight back with all her will.

The film’s cast includes Billy Burke (TV’s Major Crimes), Richard Cabral (TV’s American Crime), Ajiona Alexus (Acrimony), Levi Meaden (War for the Planet of the Apes), and Seth Carr (Black Panther). The script is penned by Ryan Engle (The Commuter) and sees Gabrielle Union serving as producer.

Breaking In will be distributed by Universal Pictures and arrives in theaters on May 11.

Rick Rice: A kid at heart who has loved watching movies from a very young age. Credit must be given to Siskel and Ebert whose film reviews educated me on the world of film inspired me to become a writer myself. I love to read books that range from various topics, copious amounts of research is something that excites me and of course sitting in a movie theater is a highlight of my life. When I'm not watching movies or reading I enjoy listening to foreign music and working hard on finishing my short stories. Currently working on my degree in English with a plan to enroll into Film School with the dream of becoming a screenwriter and director.
