Paramount in conjunction with Atlas Comics and Steven Paul of Atlas has announced the development of adaptations of the comic company’s multiple series starting with Devilina. The project will be live-action and is set to be penned by Blick List’s owns Rebecca Webb with Paul as producer on the project. Other names confirmed to be working on the project are Jason Goodman, the grandson of Marvel Comics founder Martin Goodman, Goodman is the executive producer alongside Scott Karol, the president of the SP Media Group. Also from SP Media Group is Conor O’Farrell who was also confirmed to be working on the project.
The Devilina comic follows the title character, a supposed normal young woman who discovers she is actually the twin sister to Satan himself and has been manipulated by him for years. The story then follows Devilina as she uncovers the secrets of her past after running to New York for answers including a detective who is investigating a series of murders that seem to be connected to her.
Devilina was the first in a series of hits for Atlas Comics back in 1975, branching off into a shared world of supernatural adventures that brought other iconic characters to audiences and readers. Paul confirmed in an interview that multiple projects are planned for Atlas Comics and Paramount, with a special studio deal that will see Devilina reprise her role as the introduction to her mysterious world soon to be reintroduced to audiences in film form.
