Paramount has signed a deal with Warner Bros. Discovery to be able to air the Harry Potter franchise and spin-offs on its networks. All eight movies and the spinoffs, Fantastic Beasts, will be featured on Paramount’s network channels such as MTV, Nickelodeon, and Paramount Network. The first network to premiere the movies is MTV.
MTV will be showing all original 8 Harry Potter movies from July 3rd to July 5th. After MTV, Paramount Network will have a marathon of all eight Harry Potter movies and the three Fantastic Beasts each weeknight from July 13th to July 19th. The last network to have a Harry Potter marathon will be Nickelodeon. Nickelodeon’s nighttime program block, Nick at Nite, will begin airing the movies on August 9th as a weeklong event. Each channel contains different airtimes of the movies, with most films starting at noon on MTV, 6 p.m. on weekdays, and noon on the weekends for Paramount Network and 7 p.m. on Nick at Nite.
In a Paramount Press Release, head of programming and acquisitions for Paramount Media Networks, Laurel Weir, said,
Expanding Paramount’s portfolio with the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films underscores our commitment to delivering world-class franchises to the wide range of audiences our brands serve.
