O’Shea Jackson Jr. is currently in negotiations to join Seth Rogen and Charlize Theron in a new comedy titled Flarsky, according to Variety. The film is being directed by Jonathan Levine (50/50, Warm Bodies) and has been written by veteran comedy scribe Dan Sterling (The Interview, TV’s King of the Hill).
The story will follow an out-of-work journalist named Fred Flarsky (Rogen) who decides to pursue his lifelong crush and former babysitter (Theron) who has become one of the most unattainable and powerful women in the world. Jackson’s role for the film has not been specified.
Flarsky is being produced by Rogen’s Point Grey Pictures, Theron’s Denver and Delilah Films, and Good Universe. Lionsgate will act as distributor. The film is already slated for its release on Feb. 8, 2019.
O’Shea Jackson Jr. first turned heads in Straight Outta Compton playing the younger version of his father Ice Cube. Since then, the actor has planted himself in the comedy world, appearing this summer in the indie Ingrid Goes West, keeping up with the wacky and enjoyable Aubrey Plaza. Up next, he will be appearing in the thriller Den of Thieves with Gerard Butler, and in Universal’s Godzilla: King of Monsters.
