Osgood Perkins Makes Directorial Debut with ‘February’

Actor and now Director Osgood Perkins

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Osgood Perkins (Legally Blonde, Six Degrees of Separation) will soon join the list of actors-turned-directors with his recently announced February. Perkins has announced that his debut will be a thriller starring two students at an all-girls boarding school.

Perkins is no stranger to thrillers; his first acting role was a young Norman Bates in Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho II while his father, Anthony, played the adult Norman in the original PsychoFebruary comes from a script he wrote in 2012 for The Blood List, an online effort to draw attention to unproduced horror screenplays. Both 2010’s Buried and 2013’s Warm Bodies were featured on the list in previous years.

Similar to Perkins, co-producers Revolver Picture Company and Unbroken Pictures despite their youth as companies, are attempting to develop reputations for thriller and horror films. Revolver was formed back in January by Nick Phillips and Kelly Wagner who combined have worked on Straw Dogs, The Devil Inside, and 30 Days of Night, as well as The Grudge and Hostel franchises. February will represent an important opportunity for all involved to draw attention to their work.
