“All men are created equal. But then, a few became firefighters.” These words were stated by Vice President Joe Biden during the memorial for the 19 Granite Mountain Hotshots who were killed during a wildfire. Only The Brave is focusing on the story of the Hotshots and how the Yarnell fire would change their lives forever.
The Granite Mountain Hotshots were a special team of the Prescott Arizona Fire Department that specifically fought wildfires. The crew will be played by a whole host of strong actors, including Josh Brolin (Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, No Country for Old Men), Miles Teller (Whiplash, War Dogs), Jeff Bridges (The Big Lebowski, Tron: Legacy), James Badge Dale (World War Z, Iron Man 3), and Taylor Kitsch (Battleship, Lone Survivor). Other actors and actresses include Pell James (The Lincoln Lawyer, Zodiac), Jennifer Connelly (A Beautiful Mind, Blood Diamond), and Andie MacDowell (Groundhog Day, Four Weddings and a Funeral).
The film is directed by Joseph Kosinski (Tron: Legacy, Oblivion) and is written by Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down, Transformers: The Last Knight). The firefighters will be fighting for their city and for themselves in theaters starting on October 20, with subject to change. We will keep you updated in case the release date changes.
