Official Trailer for ‘Men, Women & Children’

Set to be released everywhere this Friday, October 17th, Jason Reitman’s film Men, Women & Children has debuted a new full length trailer. The movie sets out to uncover the changes we haven’t even noticed – and the ones we have – that the Internet has forced upon us.

We covered the first teaser trailer here at mxdwn Movies back in August. The film stars several Hollywood power-players, including Adam Sandler in much more serious role than normal, Jennifer Garner (Dallas Buyers Club) and Judy Greer (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) playing both sides of the role of Internet-savvy mother, as well as newcomers including Ansel Elgort (The Fault in Our StarsDivergent) and Kaitlyn Dever (The Spectacular Now). Elgort’s continued success in movies across the studio spectrum will most likely continue here, as his character here looks to be a complete reversal from that of Augustus Waters, the sweet, fatalistic childhood cancer survivor he played in Fault. Based off the novel of the same name by Chad Kultgen, Men, Women & Children explores the way the internet has changed our relationships, how we see other people, and how we see ourselves.

The film follows both high school students and adults as they try to re-orient themselves around all of the online interactions that happen not only daily, but by the minute. It will hope to follow in the long line of successful books turned movies that audiences have been flocking to recently, while revealing the world created by our computers that we don’t even notice. Judging from the trailer, the movie will look to shock all audiences into a new appreciation for how people live their lives in the 21st century. Seeing how people change, especially in increments we don’t even notice due to hidden online actions, might just make viewers question everything about the people they know, calling back to the movie’s tagline: “Discover how little you know about the people you know.”
