The Other Side has brought on a new talent to headline the project, Nina Hoss is set to appear in the new thriller.
The Other Side comes from director Mariko Minoguchi, and follows her other film, Relativity. While Relativity is described as both a thriller and a romance film, The Other Side shares the thriller genre, but skews towards action rather than romance.
The Other Side will follow a doctor who chooses to completely isolate themselves as a pandemic breaks out.
Recently, Hoss appeared opposite Academy Award nominee Cate Blanchett in 2022’s Tár, directed by Todd Field. The film was nominated for several Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Leading Actress for Blanchett, and Best Original Screenplay, among others.
As Hollywood Reporter points out, Hoss is a frequent collaborator with director Christian Petzold. Three of Petzold’s films, Yella, Phoenix, and Barbara, feature Hoss in the cast. Hoss also starred in A Most Wanted Man, Pelican Blood, and Jerichow.
Production is set to begin for The Other Side in the summer of this year.
