Nicole Kidman and Amara Karan are in talks with the The Weinstein Company to join Bryan Cranston and Kevin Hart in a remake of Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano’s The Intouchables.
This fresh take on the French 2011 classic was written by Jon Hartmere and will be directed by Neil Burger. The original grossed $416 million overseas, and $10 million domestic. It told the true story of an aristocrat who, after being paralyzed in a hang-gliding accident, hires a young man from the projects to be his caretaker.
Coming off of the success of HBO’s The Night Of- Karan’s deal is said to be all wrapped up to portray Maggie. Kidman, who was up for a Golden Globe last night for her work in the film Lion, is still in negotiations but will more than likely take on the role of Yvonne, which was previously played by Anne Le Ny in the original.
