New Trailer For Sports Drama ‘Boogie’ Released

The trailer for the upcoming movie Boogie has just been released. The trailer itself refers to the movie as a coming of age story, and the story of Boogie will follow the journey of a Chinese American boy named Alfred Chin, who is nicknamed Boogie. Boogie lives in Queens, and he is obsessed with basketball. His goal is to one day play for the NBA.

Actor Taylor Takahashi plays the titular character of Boogie. Takahashi acts along side Taylour Paige, Mike Moh, Pamelyn Chee, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Alexa Mareka, Perry Yung, and Pop Smoke. The movie will feature music from rapper Pop Smoke, who was unfortunately killed last year when some people broke into his home. Boogie is being produced by Josh Bratman, Josh McLaughlin and Michael Tadross. Also the movie was both written and directed by Eddie Huang.

Eddie Huang is of course a very famous chef and restauranteur, but he is also well known for writing his memoir Fresh Off the Boat: A Memoir. His memoir was then adapted into the popular sitcom Fresh Off the Boat. 

Boogie is being distributed by Focus Features, and it will be released in theaters on March 5th 2021.
