A new trailer for the upcoming film Happy Death Day 2 U has just been released. This movie is of course the sequel to the first Happy Death Day, which was a Groundhog Day-themed slasher film. Released in 2017 the first Happy Death Day followed the story of college student Theresa ‘Tree’ Glebman, played by Jessica Rothe, who is forced to keep reliving her birthday in a Groundhog Day time loop. Each day starts with Tree waking up on the same day, and each day ends with her being murdered by a masked serial killer. Like the first film, Happy Death Day 2 U is being directed by Christopher Landon, and a lot of the cast will be returning.

The trailer for the sequel shows that not only has the killer from the first fill returned, but  Tree is back in the time loop and is once again reliving her birthday. However the trailer indicates that this time the killer will be going after multiple people and not just Tree.

Though it does not appear to be a very romantic movie Happy Death Day 2 U is set for release on February 14, 2019.
