New teaser drops for Rob Zombies ‘The Munsters’

Rob Zombie is no stranger to the avid gore hounds that haunt local cinemas, so it was rather shocking, but very much on brand, to hear that he was chosen to helm the film adaptation of the retro classic The Munsters. The musician-turned-director has always shown an appreciation for the series, basing his first hit song Dragula off a deep-cut episode of the series as well as featuring that exact episode in the background of his first film House of 1000 Corpses. Throughout the years he has continuously shared some behind-the-scenes photos on his Instagram, a rare look inside the famously private life of Rob Zombie.

The trailer shows an admittedly cheesy and campy look at the characters that don’t give the feel like it was directed by Rob Zombie. Much of his style encompasses a lot of blood, gore, and vulgarity. This departure makes sense as the film is set to come in as a PG rating instead of the R rating Zombie usually gets. The film sees many of the same regulars that are in many Zombies films. Sherri Moon Zombie plays Lilly Munster, Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman Munster, and Daniel Roebuck as Grandpa Munster. There is not a release date as of yet but the film is set to release some time this year.
