New Suspenseful ‘The Guilty’ Trailer with Jake Gyllenhaal

Netflix has hired some of the best talents in the show business for their new movie The Guilty. Director Antoine Fuqua and actor Jake Gyllenhaal have worked together on this project that from the looks of it promises to be a very intense thriller.

The trailer shows Gyllenhaal as a 911-operator working his everyday routine of bizarre phone calls until he gets one call from a young woman in grave danger. She identifies herself as Emily and can’t give out many details about her location over the phone because the man threatening her is in the same room as her. Joe (Gyllenhaal’s character in the movie) is determined to find out more and help but Emily is forced to cut the phone call short when her abductor figures out she has dialed the emergency hotline. “I’m gonna die” are the last words Emily says to Joe before hanging up. The very limited information Joe has and wildfires raging outside are all but helping the police find the abduction victim. Things get even more complicated as Joe has Emily’s little daughter on the line and tries to figure out if she is in danger as well. Be ready for a suspenseful thriller with a great twist in the end.

Based on the very successful Danish drama Den Skyldige by Gustav Moller and written by True Detective creative writer Nic Pizzolatto, The Guilty seems like a safe guarantee for Netflix to show off some good filmmaking of their own as other streaming services are coming out with new films almost every other week. Also starring in the movie are Paul Dano, Riley Keough, Peter Sarsgaard, Ethan Hawke, and Bill Burr.
