New Stills of Timothée Chalamet and Taylor Russell in Luca Guadagnino’s Bones and All

Bones and All, starring Timothée Chalamet and Taylor Russell, revealed new stills. The coming-of-age romance horror is an adaptation of Camille DeAngelis’s novel Bones & All which follows the love story between  Maren, a young woman learning how to survive on the margins of society, and Lee, an intense and disenfranchised drifter. According to producers the project is “a liberating road odyssey of two young people coming into their own, searching for identity and chasing beauty in a perilous world that cannot abide who they are.”

The film is directed by Luca Guadagnino who has worked with Chalamet in Call Me By Your Name. Guadagnino is also reuniting with screenwriter David Kajganich. The pair previously collaborated in Suspiria and A Bigger Splash

Guadagnino shared his enthusiasm for the film’s characters:

There is something about the disenfranchised, about people living on the margins of society that I am drawn toward and touched by. I love these characters. The heart of the movie is tender and affectionate towards them. I’m interested in their emotional journeys. I want to see where the possibilities lie for them, enmeshed within the impossibility they face. The movie is for me a meditation on who I am and how I can overcome what I feel, especially if it is something I cannot control in myself. And lastly, and most importantly, when will I be able to find myself in the gaze of the other?

Theresa Park, Marco Morabito, Dave, Francesco Melzi d’Eril, Lorenzo Mieli, Gabriele Moratti, Peter Spears, and Chalamet are producers alongside Guadagnino and Kajganich. Giovanni Corrado, Raffaella Viscardi, Marco Colombo, and Moreno Zani are executive producers. Additionally Bones and All is funded by The Apartment Pictures (a Fremantle Company), 3 Marys Entertainment, Memo Films, Tenderstories, Elafilm, Wise Pictures, Excelsa, Serfis, and Piace. It will be internationally distributed by MGM Studios, and Vision Distribution will release the film in Italy.

Bones and All will debut at the 79th Venice International Film Festival in September and is scheduled for release on November 23.

Valeri Vankov: I recently graduated high school and will be moving from Bulgaria to attend Yale University in the fall. My interests range from data science to finance to trends in the entertainment industry. When it comes to movies, I am always down for a good social commentary or a psychological thriller. K-dramas are also on my watchlist. In my free time I enjoy going outdoors and reading the works of Haruki Murakami, Kurt Vonnegut, and others.
