New ‘Masters of The Universe’ Show Might Have Connection to Original 80’s Film

Warning: Spoilers For Kevin Smith’s Masters of the Universe: Revolution

With Netflix just releasing its newest animated He-Man project, Masters of The Universe: Revolution, creator Kevin Smith might have connected the live-action 1987 movie and this animated project. The connection came from the character Gwildor, which is his first appearance in an animated property, according to ComicBook.com

When characters Man At War and Orko seek and find Gwildor to re-forge the Sword of Power, Man At War asks Gwildor to remember a memory of the two of them traveling across the universe, hinting at the 80’s film.

While Mat At War was Man At Arms in the live-action film, and it hasn’t been one hundred percent confirmed that both properties are a part of the same universe, fans of the series and movies can be delighted to hear this little Easter egg in the new project.

Revolution is the third part in Smith’s animated universe, with Masters of The Universe: Revelation releasing two parts in 2021, with Revolution being a continuation of those two parts.

All five episodes of this new project have been released on Netflix and include voice actors Chris Wood, Melissa Benoist, Stephen Root, Liam Cunningham, Griffith Newman, Tiffany Smith, Keith David, Mark Hamill, and William Shatner.
