New Images Released For Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’

In Entertainment Weekly’s 2026 Preview Issue, new images were released for Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated blockbuster adaptation of Homer’s The Odyssey.  The first image offers a glimpse of Matt Damon’s Odysseus in battle armor, standing alongside Himesh Patel as Eurylochus and another soldier. Another image features Tom Holland as Odysseus’s son, Telemachus, and Anne Hathaway as Odysseus’s wife, Penelope. Another image of Matt Damon as Odysseus was also released, along with a glimpse of Robert Pattinson as Antinous. Also included is a behind-the-scenes still, which features Christopher Nolan and cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema framing a shot with the massive IMAX 70mm camera used for the film.

Christopher Nolan will write and direct The Odyssey. In addition to the cast seen in the stills, the film features a massive all-star supporting cast, including Charlize Theron, Benny Safdie, Lupita Nyong’o, Elliot Page, Mia Goth, Corey Hawkins, Cosmo Jarvis, Samantha Morton, John Leguizamo, Logan Marshall-Green, and James Remar. Audiences first got a glimpse at the film with the teaser that Universal released in front of Jurassic World: Rebirth back in July. Audiences most recently got an extended look at the film through a 5-minute Prologue that played in front of the recent IMAX 70mm re-releases of Sinners and One Battle After Another.

The Odyssey will be released in IMAX, IMAX 70mm, and standard formats on July 17, 2026.
