New Documentary ‘Fanmade: Enhypen’ Offers A Glimpse Into The Lives Of K-Pop Stars And Their Devoted Fandom

A new documentary, Fanmade: Enhypen, is set to hit select AMC theaters on November 8, offering fans a close look at the bond between K-pop group Enhypen and their devoted fanbase, known as Engenes. The film, produced by Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine and Good-People, will follow the group during their U.S. arena tour and feature behind-the-scenes footage, interviews and performances.

The documentary showcases the relationship between Enhypen and their fans, paralleling the experiences of the group with those of the fans who support them. As part of this journey, the film builds up to the Samsung Galaxy Fanmade concert, an event where five dedicated female fans collaborate to create a unique experience for both the band and their fellow Engenes.

“It’s just about community,” one fan remarks in the trailer, which teases scenes of fans coming together and bonding over their shared admiration for the group. “I think all humans want community.”

Enhypen, formed through the survival show I-Land by Korean entertainment company Belift Lab, has grown rapidly in popularity since their debut. The group’s second full-length album, Romance: Untol, released in July, reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart, marking a career high for the seven-member ensemble.

The documentary also highlights the group’s connection with their fans through music. Enhypen surprised their fanbase by recording the song “HOME,” which was co-written by Rob Grimaldi and Ryan Curtis. The song was originally sung by fans at the Samsung Galaxy Fanmade concert, where the audience paused the show to perform it as a tribute to the group.

The film is directed by Caroline Suh, who previously worked on the K-pop documentary Blackpink: Light Up the Sky, ensuring that Fanmade: Enhypen will deliver a heartwarming exploration of fandom and the mutual support between artists and their admirers.
