A plethora of new character images for Finding Dory have been released. The twelve photos include some familiar faces but are comprised of some new and colorful characters as well. Nemo, Marlin, Crush, Squirt, and of course Dory are all making their return to the Pixar sequel to the 2003 Oscar winning blockbuster Finding Nemo. Their prominence to the story remains to be seen, but information on some of the other characters were revealed as well. There are the two sea lions, which, according to director Andrew Stanton, are supposed to resemble “Guy Ritchie-type East London gangsters.” The characters Rudder and Fluke, are voiced by Dominic West and Idris Elba respectively.
Also making their debut are Dory’s parents Charlie and Jenny, played by Eugene Levy and Diane Keaton; a beluga whale named Bailey played by Ty Burrell; a whale shark aptly named Destiny played by It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Kaitlyn Olsen; and a grouchy “curmudgeon” octopus named Hank played by Ed O’Niel. There are even some cute otter babies teased here as well.
Ellen DeGeneres, Albert Brooks, and Andrew Stanton are all set to reprise their respective roles. Finding Dory hits theatres June 17.
