Netflix’s Untitled Kenya Barris Comedy Adds David Duchovny and Nia Long to the Cast

David Duchovny (The X-Files, Californication) and Nia Long (#BlackAF) are going to star in Netflix untitled comedy from writer and director Kenya Barris and co-writer Jonah Hill, Deadline reported. The comedy follows a young couple (Hill and Lauren London) and their families as they grapple with modern love and family relations in the face of competing cultures, cultural expectations, and generational divides.

Duchovny and Long are joined by the previously announced cast of Hill (21 Jump Street), London (Baggage Claim), Eddie Murphy (Coming 2 America), Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Veep, Seinfeld)), Sam Jay (Pinsky), and Molly Gordon (Booksmart).

Barris wrote and directed and few episodes of Black-ish and #BlackAF. Barris is the co-writer behind comedies like Girls Trip, starring Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Tiffany Haddish and the Shaft starring Samuel L. Jackson, Richard Roundtree, and Regina Hall. Barris also co-wrote the upcoming Disney+ Cheaper by the Dozen remake starring Zach Braff and Gabrielle Union.

Barris will produce through his Khalabo Ink Society banner, Hill will produce through his Strong Baby banner, and Kevin Misher will produce through his Misher Films.

Duchovny just wrapped filming Paramount Players’ upcoming Pet Sematary prequel.

Long can be seen most recently in the drama The Banker starring Samuel L. Jackson, Nicholas Hoult, and Anthony Mackie.
