Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are back for their newest movie. A trailer for Netflix’s newest film headlined by the two, The Rip, has just been released.
The Rip follows a group of officers in Miami who uncover a stash of money while searching for drugs. Upon discovering the cash, they realize that whoever wants to claim it will go to deadly lengths, splitting up the force with no one able to trust one another.
Damon and Affleck are joined by a cast including Steven Yeun, Teyana Taylor, Sasha Calle, and Kyle Chandler. Both Damon and Affleck serve as producers, alongside Luciana Damon, Sasha Veneziano, Michael McGrale, Dani Bernfeld, and Gage Hanlon.
The Rip is both written and directed by Joe Carnahan, who isn’t a stranger to the merged action/thriller genre. Perhaps his most well known film, The Grey, was a 2011 action/thriller with Liam Neeson in the leading role. Even his most recent work, Shadow Force, fits into the genre, which was released earlier this year.
The trailer for the film capitalizes on the duo of Damon and Affleck. As the two main leads, there’s plenty of footage shown of them bouncing back and forth between them, which is nothing short of the norm for a film with the two of them in it.
