In many parts of the world, Halloween is the one holiday holding the Christmas season at bay. But once All Hallow’s Eve has past and we put away our spooky skulls, ghosts and unnecessarily sexy costumes, out come the Christmas trees, menorahs, kinaras, and Festivas poles. Who cares about Thanksgiving? And with every winter holiday season comes a slew of new Christmas movies.
This year, Netflix has announced plans to release several new Christmas-themed movies throughout the holiday season. Back in March, Netflix revealed that they were making a third Christmas Prince movie titled A Christmas Prince: The Royal which, according to Seventeen, will have Rose McIver and Ben Lamb reprising their roles as Amber and King Richard respectively. The movie will see the royal couple trying to negotiate diplomacy between King Tai and Queen Ming, the rulers of the small fictional nation of Penglia, and presumably a baby will be involved in some way. The movie will be released on December 5th.
Likewise, a trailer for Let It Snow has just been released. Let It Snow is directed by Luke Snellin, and stars Kiernan Shipka, Jacob Batalon, Shameik Moore, and Joan Cusack. The movie tells the story of a group of high school seniors living in a small town that’s hit by a massive snow storm on Christmas Eve. Despite the bad weather, the teens decide to throw a massive party and, along the way, experience friendship, love, and loads of teen angsty drama. Let It Snow is set for a release date of November 8th.
Other Christmas-themed movies coming to Netflix include Holiday in the Wild, The Knight Before Christmas, Holiday Rush and the animated movie Klaus, which is set to release on November 15th.
