Netflix Earns Rights to Sam Raimi’s Upcoming Horror Film ‘Every House Is Haunted’

Netflix has outbid many other outlets and won the rights to Sam Raimi‘s upcoming horror film Every House is Haunted. Sam Raimi is one of the most well-respected modern directors, most known for the cult classic Evil Dead films as well as the Spiderman trilogy with Tobey Maguire. Other credits to his name include horror films Army of Darkness and Darkman.

According to Screenrant, Raimi will be returning to horror films by producing Every House is Haunted. The film will be based on script by Jason Pagan and Andrew Deutschman. Raimi won’t serve as director this time, with Corin Hardy (The Nun) taking on the role. Every House is Haunted is based on the short stories of the same name by Ian Rogers. The official synopsis reads: “An insurance investigator tries to debunk claims that a couple’s death was caused by a haunted house, but his doubts are challenged by a psychic and the mysterious occurrences he witnesses with his own eyes”.

Raimi has most recently directed Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and has several other projects in the works. Doctor Strange was his return to the superhero genre since the Spider-Man trilogy concluded in 2007. Although Raimi is only producing Every House is Haunted, fans can get excited that he is returning to his horror roots. There is currently no release date for Every House is Haunted.

Melissa Cusano: I love to escape reality with reading, writing, movies, and music! If I'm not working I love to go to concerts (pre-covid), play video games, and hang out with my dog Ozzi.
