According to Deadline, Nat Wolff (Paper Towns, The Fault in Our Stars) is set to take on the lead role in the indie thriller Rosy.
He will play Doug, a lonely young man who kidnaps Rosy, a struggling actress. All does not go according to the kidnapper’s plan, as Rosy winds up being much more difficult than he imagined. The indie flick will be directed by Jessica Manafort (Remember the Daze) as her second feature. Jonathan Schwartz (The Way Back) will produce.
Wolff is on a roll, having also landed the lead in Adam Wingard’s adaptation of the Japanese horror manga Death Note. He also is playing the lead role in James Franco’s In Dubious Battle, – set for release in 2016 – appearing as the doomed leader of 1930s strike of migratory workers. Wolff was recently seen in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo role in Nancy Meyers’ The Intern this year and also played a part in the critically acclaimed indie starring Lily Tomlin, Grandma.
The titular character of Rosy has yet to be cast, and there is no word yet on when the feature will go into production. We will keep you posted as developments arise.
