The winner of the U.S. Documentary Grand Jury Prize at Sundance follows the captivating love story of two adults with Asperger’s syndrome – 49-year-old Dina and her fiancé, Scott, a Walmart greeter – as they shack up and prepare to spend the rest of their lives together. Dina is a real-life romantic comedy with a unique perspective that proves love trumps all.
Upon receiving the Documentary Grand Jury Prize, the film went on to win several other festival awards, including the Sun Valley Vision Award, the Special Jury Prize in Saratosa, the IDA Award from the International Documentary Association, the Critics Choice Documentary Award, the Cinema Eye Honors Award, and the Karen Schmeer Award for Excellence in Documentary Editing from the Independent Film Festival of Boston.
The Orchard is now releasing an exclusive clip from the film, titled “Live For Today,” that captures the spirit of Dina and her fight for love. Dina Buno and Scott Levin star in the real-life story directed by Dan Sickles and Antonio Santini.
