In 2019, CBS All Access was reportedly developing a standalone Star Trek series starring Michelle Yeoh and reprising her Star Trek: Discovery role as Emperor Philippa Georgiou. We have learned that the project will now be a movie instead of a series. According to Deadline, Paramount+ has green-lit the film, and production will begin later this year.
Yeoh’s character joins a “secret division of Starfleet tasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets. But she also faces the sins of her past.”
