It was announced on Sunday morning that the Los Angeles premiere for Michael J. Fox’s documentary has been postponed due to the WGA strike. Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie was set to have its screening and premiere on the evening of Monday, May 8th. The announcement did state that the premiere would be rescheduled to a later date but not other details were given.
The documentary is to focus on Fox’s life in the movie industry. It also goes into detail about his Parkinson’s diagnosis and how he is battling the disease.
While many were expressing their disappointment, Justine Bateman posted the email she received to Twitter:
“The May 8 screening for ‘Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie’ has been postponed. We will be in contact about the rescheduling of this event. We appreciate your support of ‘Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie,’ and we hope to celebrate this beautiful film with all of you soon.”
Bateman also included that after texting him, Fox revealed he refused to cross the WGA picket line.
This is not the first time the strike has postponed or canceled an event. Recently, the MTV Movie and TV Awards had to cancel the live hosting of the event after the host, Drew Barrymore, pulled out.
