The latest documentary from Michael Moore, Where to Invade Next finally has a release date according to Variety. The film will get a limited release on December 23, just in time to be eligible for the Oscars.
The film follows Moore traveling to foreign countries to learn what assets they possess that the U.S. would want enough to invade them. In doing so, the film covers a wide range of topics including benefits of female leadership, prison reform as well as other countries’ approach to gun control and healthcare. Moore previously covered those last two topics in Bowling for Columbine and Sicko, respectively. Columbine won the Academy Award for Best Documentary.
Where to Invade Next will be distributed by a new company formed by former Radius Co-Presidents Tom Quinn and Jason Janego along with Alamo Drafthouse Founder and CEO Tim League. The company still doesn’t have a name.
No wide release date has been announced for the film. Given the release date, it wouldn’t be surprising if the film didn’t release till after the new year.
