An exclusive report from Deadline details that Mel Gibson is back in action with the action thriller Hot Seat and will star alongside One Tree Hill alum Chad Michael Murray.
James Cullen Bressack, who just finished directing the action thriller Fortress that stars Murray and Bruce Willis, will be directing Hot Seat. Randall Emmett and George Furla will produce with Bressack.
The film is based on a tale written by Leon Langford and Collin Watts.
An ex-hacker is compelled to break into high-level banking institutions in Hot Seat by an unknown person who put a bomb under his workplace chair. Gibson will portray the character who must attempt to breach the booby-trapped building in order to remove the young man off the hot seat.
Emmett just made his directorial debut with Midnight in the Switchgrass starring Bruce Willis and Megan Fox. The Irishman, Silence, and Lone Survivor were all produced by Emmett and Furla.
Emmett and Furla told Deadline, “This is our third movie with Mel, and we couldn’t be happier to continue the relationship with such an iconic and exceptional artist.”
Gibson is filming the thriller On the Line (no plot), which will star Kevin Dillon and William Moseley.
Production is set to begin on Nov. 1 in New Mexico.
