Megan Fox and alt-rock band The All-American Rejects Frontman Tyson Ritter starring in a movie together? And in a remake of the famous crime duo, Bonnie and Clyde called Johnny and Clyde? It is something to get excited about, that’s for sure. However, their roles are not what fans will expect their roles to be. Deadline confirmed the casting news of Fox and Ritter.
Johnny and Clyde will be a fresh new take on the classic Bonnie and Clyde. The director behind Vault, Tom DeNucci, will direct the thriller with Chad A. Verdi from Verdi Productions to executive produce the film.
The plot revolves around the two eponymous serial murderers, who are madly in love and on an unending crime rampage. They plan to steal a rich casino controlled by criminal boss Alana (Fox) and her head of security (Ritter).
Verdi stated: “I am very excited to have Megan play the role of Alana. She’s a brilliant actress who will bring this character to life like no one else could. I love Tyson’s energy and can’t wait for him and Megan to go head-to-head.”
Fox most recently be seen in the thriller Til Death. She is best known for her role in the Transformers Saga and Jennifer’s Body.
Ritter starred in the AMC drama series Preacher and NBC drama series Parenthood. Ritter is currently filming Catherine Hardwicke’s drama Prisoner’s Daughter starring Kate Beckinsale and Ernie Hudson.
Johnny and Clyde have already begun production in Rhode Island. The actors who will play Johnny and Clyde will be cast relatively soon and will join Fox and Ritter in October.
