Matt Reeves Reveals Michael Giacchino’s Catwoman Theme from ‘The Batman’

Just two weeks ahead of the release of The Batman, Matt has released the theme that Michael Giacchino composed for Catwoman, the final of three singles. a classic anti-hero and probable foil to Batman in the film. This comes after themes for both Batman and The Riddler were released in previous weeks.

Zoe Kravitz will star opposite Robert Pattinson’s Batman in the role of Catwoman. This theme continues the dark and brooding tone of the other two, but brings something lighter to the table with a sad yet hopeful piano and string ballad. From the trailers alone, it is clear that Catwoman is in league with Batman in a somewhat tenuous relationship – seemingly working together for a greater good. She will likely serve in an anti-heroic role and a foil to Batman. It will be interesting to see if Catwoman is loyal to Batman in the film, and if she will stay that way.

Matt Reeves, known for his work on Cloverfield, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and War for the Planet of the Apes, has directed the new Batman film with Michael Giacchino scoring. Alongside Pattinson and Kravitz, Paul Dano, most known for his role in Prisoners, will portray The Riddler, the main villain of the film. The cast also includes Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Colin Farrell as Penguin/Oswald Cobblepot, and John Turturro as Carmine Falcone.

The Batman releases in theaters on March 4.
