Marvel Announces 2021 Release of Second ‘Doctor Strange’ Film Starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen

Marvel Studios has announced that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to come out in 2021. Benedict Cumberbatch will reprise his role as the titular character and Elizabeth Olsen will be in the film as her character Scarlet Witch.

It was announced at the San Diego Comic-Con that the film will be “gothic and horrific and the first scary Marvel movie.” The film’s content will also tie in directly to the material in Disney+’s upcoming series WandaVision.

Scott Derrickson, director of the first Doctor Strange film, will return to direct.

The film is set to be released on May 7, 2021.
