Marvel Actor Dave Bautista Considered for “Unleashed”

Dave Bautista is in talks to star and produce for Netflix’s Unleashed, which has TAG‘s Jeff Tomsic as director and Blockers’ Jim and Brian Kehoe as writers and executive producers. Bautista is set to produce with his partner Jonathan Meisner in addition to Good Fear’s Chris Bender and Jake Weiner. The actor will play a police officer whose best friend and canine partner, Boomer, can sniff out any crime. When his companion dies on the job, the cop promises himself never to work with police dogs again, until he is paired with Zeus and is forced to overcome his past trauma while strengthening the relationship with his new partner.

Bautista’s next role is in Netflix’s Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery which will debut in September 2022. He will also make appearances in Universal’s Knock at the Cabin, Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3, and Warner Bros’ Dune: Part Two.

The Kehoes have other projects in the works, including the tennis comedy Double Fault, starring Rebel Wilson, and the upcoming remake of the 2016 Korean film Luck Key. The duo has also created the animated series Futha Mucka which reunited actors Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson.

Valeri Vankov: I recently graduated high school and will be moving from Bulgaria to attend Yale University in the fall. My interests range from data science to finance to trends in the entertainment industry. When it comes to movies, I am always down for a good social commentary or a psychological thriller. K-dramas are also on my watchlist. In my free time I enjoy going outdoors and reading the works of Haruki Murakami, Kurt Vonnegut, and others.
