According to The Hollywood Reporter, Margot Robbie (Suicide Squad and Tarzan) will star in the action thriller Beautiful Things, based on the novel of the same name, by Gin Phillips.
Warner Brothers will produce along side Robbie’s team, LuckyChap (I, Tonya) and Denise Di Novi Pictures. The novel, Beautiful Things, was sold by Phillips to Viking at the October Frankfurt Book Fair for $850,000. Phillips’ work tells the story of a mother and son who are trapped in a zoo while a gunman is on the lose. The whole novel takes place in just three hours.
Di Novi has worked with Warner Brothers for a long time and has produced The Best of Me and You’re Not You. She also helped produce Focus, which starred Robbie and Will Smith. Di Novi will make her directorial debut in 2017 with her film, Unforgettable, a thriller which stars Rosario Dawson and Katherine Heigl.
Robbie recently joined the Peter Rabbit movie and is also starring alongside Domhnall Gleeson in the upcoming biopic about A.A. Milne, the creator of Winnie the Pooh. She will next be seen in Vaughn Stein’s Terminal.
