Manhattan DA Office Will Not Prosecute Grace Jabbari In Jonathan Majors Trial

Nearly 24 hours after Jonathan Majors’ request for his charges to be dismissed were rejected, the Manhattan District Attorney’s office announced that they would not be prosecuting Majors’ accuser, Grace Jabbari. Despite Jabbari turning herself in for arrest on October 25th and Majors’ defense Priya Chaudhry filing a countersuit, the DA’s office believed that the case made against Jabbari “lacks prosecutorial merit.”

Through this dismissal and rejection, the DA continued to refuse acknowledgment of what they call the defense’s ”meritless” allegations. Even before the decision was made to release Jabbari, they made it a point that they would not prosecute her. “While defendant claims the People did not investigate Ms. Jabbari, a thorough investigation was conducted into the facts of this case and, in doing so, the People have chosen to prosecute Jonathan Majors,” the office explained in its filing.

When rejecting the request for dismissal, both DA Alvin Bragg and Assistant DA Keli Galaway accused the defense team of using “fictional” accusations against the prosecution. They alleged that the defense was supposedly spreading misinformation about an unreleased piece of video evidence of the March incident and placing Jabbari in the spotlight to direct attention away from the actual case.

Since Jabbari is an essential witness to the case, the DA’s office helped pay for her flight from London to America and asked the UK police for more evidence. While the evidence has not been made transparent, it’s allegedly known to involve a September 22nd incident and contains medical records and photographs. It’s currently unknown how badly these records will damage Majors’ case.

Still, even if he is found not guilty, Majors’ career has taken a downward spiral that could be impossible to recover from. He did appear in the recently released second season of Loki, but numerous partnerships have dried up after the allegations from management company Entertainment 360 to publicist The Lede Company to various WME ad campaigns.

If Majors is found guilty, he will be placed behind bars for up to a year. Whether or not this will happen is up to the November 25th trial.
