Disney’s Live-Action Lilo & Stitch has become the latest film to enter the Billion Dollar Club. On Wednesday, after reaching a total gross of $416.2 million domestically and $584.8 million internationally, the live-action remake of the 2002 animated film officially reached a full global box office gross of $1.001 billion. This makes Lilo & Stitch the first Hollywood production of 2025 to reach this milestone and the highest-grossing Western production domestically and internationally.
With this total box office gross, Lilo & Stitch falls right behind Ne Za 2, which is currently the highest-grossing film of 2025. The animated Chinese film has currently grossed more than $1.899 billion, with approximately $1.832 billion coming from China, and about $20 million from North America.
This gross also makes Lilo & Stitch the latest Disney release to gross $1 billion globally. Throughout the post-pandemic box office era, four other Disney releases have grossed $1 billion or more globally. These other Disney releases include 2022’s Avatar: The Way of Water, as well as Inside Out 2, Deadpool & Wolverine, and Moana 2, all of which were released in 2024.
Lilo & Stitch, with its $416 million domestic total, is also the second film of 2025 to gross more than $400 million domestically. The other film, A Minecraft Movie, based on the popular video game, grossed more than $423 million domestically, with a total box office of $955 million worldwide, just shy of $1 billion.
Lilo & Stitch‘s box office may continue growing, as it is still playing in theaters nationwide.
