Lindsey Beer and Geneva Robertson-Dworet Contributed Their Own ‘Silver & Black’ Script

News from The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Lindsey Beer and Geneva Robertson-Dworet wrote the latest version of the script for Silver & Black, the Sony film headlined by Marvel’s Silver Sable and Black Cat. Director Gina Prince-Bythewood is currently honing the draft that will be sent to Sony for final approval. Assuming things stay on track the film is scheduled to start filming in March.

Prince-Bythewood (The Secret Life of Bees, Love & Basketball) penned the script before, and her work was preceded by that of Lisa Joy (Pushing Daisies), as well as Marvel writer alum Chris Yost. The plot reportedly revolves around bounty hunter Silver Sable’s (real name: Silver Sablinova) attempts to chase down a thief known as Black Cat (real name: Felicia Hardy), who is utilizing gear from one of Sable’s archenemies in order to enhance her abilities. The movie takes place in the Spider-Man universe, and could tie into Sony’s Venom film.

Robertson-Dworet has recently worked on the much-anticipated female-led scripts for Tomb Raider and Captain Marvel, making her an apt choice for movie focusing on two iconic female comic book characters, while Beer has been working on Godzilla vs. Kong and Doug Liman’s upcoming film Chaos Walking. Both in-demand writers are padding their resumes with a diverse selection of fan favorites.

Silver & Black is currently scheduled to debut in theaters on February 8th, 2019.
