At almost 72 years old, actor Liam Neeson is not slowing down his filming of new stories for international audiences.
Recently Neeson spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about his newest film In the Land of Saints and Sinners and what it was like working in a Western set-up style film, as well as working with some of his Irish costars.
The film was originally shown during the Venice Film Festival, and it gave Neeson the ability to work on an action-oriented film similar to the Taken film series he did in the late 2000s.
In the Land of Saints and Sinners focuses on Finbar Murphy, played by Neeson, a man leading a quaint life in Glencolmcille, Ireland, in the 1970s. However, Murphy has a secret identity in his past and when a group of terrorists arrive in his village, he has to choose between revealing that identity or protecting his neighbors.
The film also costars Ciarán Hinds (Treason), Colm Meaney (The Serpent Queen), Jack Gleeson (Game of Thrones) and Kerry Condon (The Banshees of Inisherin), all of whom are Irish performers.
When asked about how the cast being Irish affects what happens on set, Neeson says that these actors leave their egos at the door when filming. They are there to get the job done and want to accomplish it on a schedule.
Besides this latest film, Neeson was also asked about his future endeavors, which include the Naked Gun sequel that is being written by actor and comedian Seth MacFarlane. He also has a role in the film Cold Storage, a story that focuses on a fungus that causes chaos all over the world.
With so many things happening this year and next year, Neeson is sure to get people talking about what his next role is going to be.
